Who We Are
Rebekah and Nadia met while working together in 2022 and founded Oxalis Advisors four months later in January 2023. We quit our steady jobs and moved to Mobile, Alabama in January of 2024 to run Oxalis Advisors full time. We wanted to get out from behind our desks and make a direct impact on the planet and on peoples’ lives.
We jumped into the green building space and quickly found a niche in disaster recovery reconstruction. We love the people we’ve met and the challenges presented when rebuilding from natural disasters. We work to ensure that homes are not only energy efficient but resilient enough to withstand the elements. We are excited to continue growing and create positive impact on communities.
What does our name mean?
Oxalis Advisors was named after a plant, Oxalis Montana.
Oxalis Montana is native to the eastern United States where Rebekah and Nadia are both from.
This species is a perennial herb that grows back every year and opens up in the day to absorb sunlight and closes up at night (very efficient!).
In Latin, ‘Montana’ refers to mountains or coming from mountains.
Both Rebekah and Nadia love hiking and exploring the mountains of the US and abroad.
Part of our drive to start the company stemmed from our desire to spend more of our days outside.
Nadia grows Oxalis plants and is happy to share them, just ask!

Nadia Saponara
CEO
Nadia is from New Jersey and holds a degree in Environmental Policy, Institutions, and Behavior from Rutgers University, New Brunswick. She enjoys outdoor activities such as rock climbing, hiking, running, and snowboarding. In Florida she is often collecting seashells and thrift shopping.

Rebekah Phomsopha
President
Born and raised in Virginia, Rebekah graduated with a degree in Environmental Policy and Planning from Virginia Tech and is currently pursuing a masters in infrastructure planning and management from the University of Washington - Seattle. She enjoys paddleboarding in mangroves and has collected honey from over 25 different states in the U.S.
